To go along with one of our major skills for the month the kids are learning to recognize the numbers 0-10 and count out objects to go with the appropriate number. Here are Robert, Ryan and Hunter each doing their "work job" for the day. Way to go guys, they all did it right the first time.
Every day when we return from breakfast we have journal time. When we finish journals the kids know to get them two or three books and find a quiet place in the room to look at them. While this has taken quite a while to get them to do, this is now one of their favorite parts of the day. I can truly say that we are growing readers who appreciate books and the entertainment that they provide. We may not be able to read words yet, but we read with our eyes by finding familiar letters, colors, distinguishing day and night, characters and much more in the stories that we are looking at. This is the beginning stages of reading and I am so proud of the kids.
We had so much fun in center time today. We switched out all of the dress up clothes and changed them to community helpers. The kids had a blast pretending to be firemen, police officers, construction workers, mail men and much more.
