Pumpkin Carving

The finished product! Mrs. Duvall and the class carving out the pumpkin. Ethan and Britney just loved sticking their hands inside the pumpkin.
See what the inside looks like.
Today we carved our class pumpkin. We have been studying the pumpkin all week and talking about how it grows, smells, feels etc. Today we drew a pumpkin on our smart board and experimented with different shapes eyes, nose and mouth to see what our pumpkin might look like. We decided on two triangle eyes, a square nose and a mouth with two teeth. Finally, we carved the pumpkin and let all of the students that wanted to stick their hands down inside. Then we cut out the face and toasted the pumpkin seeds. We had a great time. We can't wait until Halloween tomorrow!
